CryoCaptures: a smarter way to track the spots we freeze

Why This Matters
At Halcyon Dermatology, we’re always looking for better ways to care for your skin. Cryotherapy (freezing skin spots) is a common treatment. But before now, it was hard to keep track of every spot we treated and where it was on your body. When you come back for follow up visits, it can be tricky to know which spots were already treated and which ones are new. Knowing this helps us decide if a spot needs another freeze or a different kind of treatment — and it helps us watch for any changes that could lead to skin cancer.

How CryoCaptures Helps
CryoCaptures uses special imaging technology to take a picture of each spot we freeze. As we treat your skin, the system detects the temperature change and marks the exact location on your body map. You’ll get your own CryoMap, showing every spot treated — so both you and your dermatologist know exactly what was done each time.

CryoCaptures is a new, patent‑pending imaging technology that uses AI‑assisted thermal imaging to instantly capture and map every lesion treated with liquid nitrogen. As your dermatologist freezes each spot, CryoCaptures detects the temperature change and marks the exact location on your actual body— giving you your own CryoMap each time. So now we both know exactly what has been treated every time we freeze your lesions.

Did you get your CryoMap after your provider froze your skin spots?

SiteCaptures: making surgery safer

We also use SiteCaptures, another smart imaging tool. It helps make sure the spot we biopsy — and the spot your Mohs surgeon operates on — are an exact match. SiteCaptures uses advanced imaging and AI to confirm your correct surgical site, adding another layer of safety and peace of mind.

Both SiteCaptures and CryoCaptures were created at Halcyon Dermatology to elevate patient care and safety. Wherever you receive treatment, ask your dermatologists about these tools — they’re designed to give you confidence in every lesion treated and every site confirmed.
